These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Animal MarketPlace (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1) About the Platform

The Platform is a classifieds marketplace that helps users post listings and connect with other users. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. You are responsible for your decisions and actions.

2) Eligibility & Accounts

• You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
• You must not impersonate others or create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes.

3) Listings & Content Rules

By posting a listing you confirm that:

• You have the right to sell/rehome the animal or item described.
• Your listing is truthful and not misleading (price, condition, location, etc.).
• Your photos and text do not violate anyone’s rights (copyright, privacy, etc.).

Animal welfare: We expect users to act responsibly. Do not post listings that involve cruelty, neglect, illegal activity, or harmful practices.

4) Contacting Sellers

• Sellers may choose contact methods (e.g., WhatsApp or email form).
• Meet safely in public places where possible and use common sense.
• Never share sensitive information (passwords, OTPs, banking PINs).

5) Boost / Premium Listings (PayFast)

The Platform may offer an optional paid “Boost” that highlights a listing for a limited time. Payments are processed via PayFast. We do not store your full card or banking details.

• If payment is successful, the Boost is applied after confirmation.
• If payment is cancelled or fails, the Boost is not applied.
• Boost duration and pricing may change from time to time.
• Refunds: If you believe there’s an error, contact us. Refunds are handled case-by-case where required by law.

6) Reports, Moderation & Removal

Users can report listings. We may hide, remove, or restrict content/accounts that violate these Terms or appear unsafe. We may also take action to prevent abuse and protect users.

7) Prohibited Use

• Scams, fraud, harassment, threats, or hateful content.
• Uploading malware, attempting to hack, scrape, or overload the Platform.
• Posting illegal goods/services or content that violates applicable law.
• Misrepresenting animals/items, prices, or identity.

8) Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee listings are accurate, safe, legal, or that users will complete transactions. Use the Platform at your own risk.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from your use of the Platform or any interactions between users. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

10) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if we believe you violated these Terms or pose a risk to others. You may stop using the Platform at any time.

11) Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
